"I wished to live deliberately, to confront the essentials, to live deep and suck the marrow out of life"

Starting a Fitness Plan

Do we get in shape and then enjoy life?   Or do we get true, genuine enjoyment out of life in the process and state of being in shape?    Think about it. This key difference is that of sustainable life lasting fitness,  and your latest half hearted attempt that eventually burns out.  Whatever activities you decide upon, make sure they are thoroughly enjoyable, and get the heart rate up often.

Approach your fitness plan as part of a positive feedback system of wellness.

Positive Feedback of Wellness

Eating and cooking meals with a high nutrient density with provide you with optimal health, which will in turn produce energy you never thought possible, which will inspire you to get more deliberate about fitness and activity.  And if you keep everything creative and fun,  you'll learn to love repeating the process countless times - in other words, genuine lifestyle change.

In this section we will highlight, illustrate, and document some specifics about  sports,  exercises,  plans, and routines.

Have fun,  and incorporate much variety,  but do it.  Always do it.   Do you have to make a checklist for sleeping and eating?  Well, exercise should be as regular and enjoyable as those very healthy and necessary things too.

45 pounds in four months was not a miracle. It was not the result of a strict scientific approach.   I didn't use a magic wand, and I did not live like a robot.

" Enjoy the magic of the journey, not just the dream of the destination "

One of my frustrations with certain fitness plans is the delusional belief that there is a one stop one activity fix-it cure-all.  There is not.  Not in the lifelong sustainable and enjoyable sense.

The magic wands are not the gym, or the dumbell, or the walking trail, or the 9000 mile runs, or the spin classes, or anything else. These things can be magic,  but they are not the wands......

You have the wand. You are the wand.   Its your creativity and your variety.  Its your determined deliberation, your heart, your mind, and your soul.   Invest some fun into your physical activity. Suck the "marrow" out of physical activity.   Get passionate about any of the innumerable paths towards the real you.   The dreamlike landscape of deliberate living is not an endless row of cornfields, but a life-giving rainforest.  The pay-offs and rewards are endless.

Get Waving.
